The sites WordPress.org (collectively “WordPress.org” in this document) refer to sites hosted on WordPress.org, WordPress.net, WordCamp.org, BuddyPress.org, bbPress.org and other related domains and subdomains. This privacy policy describes how the WordPress.org uses and protects any information you give us. We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. If you provide us with personal information through WordPress.org, you can be sure that it will be used only in accordance with this privacy statement.

Site visitors

Retention of personal information

We keep contact information (such as mailing list information) until a user cancels the subscription or requests that we delete it from our active systems. If you choose to unsubscribe from a mailing list, we may keep certain limited information about you so that we can fulfill your request.

The WordPress.org will not delete personal data from records or records required for the operation, development, or files of the WordPress open source project.

The WordPress.org should keep the data of WordCamp participants for 3 years to better track and promote community growth, and then automatically delete non-essential data collected through the registry. On the WordCamp.org websites, bank/financial data collected as part of a refund request is deleted from WordCamp.org seven days after the request is marked as paid. Invoices and receipts related to WordCamp expenses are retained for seven years after the end of the calendar year audit, at the instruction of our financial advisors (auditors and accountants).

When deletion is otherwise requested or required, we will anonymize data from data subjects and/or remove their information from publicly accessible websites if deleting data breaks critical systems or damages logs or logs necessary for the operation, development, or archival records of the WordPress open source project.
